 LOOSE ENDS on TV

Jenn, our new Friend, had a story about Loose Ends on the Television tonight! Here is the story, with a short video:

 Festive Friends!

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!

We are not scheduled to meet next Friday as it is so close to Christmas Eve. However, there just may be some folks at Optimism to knit with. Have a great holiday.

FRIENDS WITH A PROJECT!

Have you ever been asked by someone to finish making a project that their grandmother or mother or cousin was not able to finish due to prolonged illness or death? Maybe you felt that you didn't have the correct skills to finish that project. Maybe the project was for you, and your loved one died before they could finish it. Now what? You don't knit/crochet/quilt and you don't know where to turn. You need someone who has the skills to finish this project so you will have it to remember your loved one by. You need "Loose Ends." Loose Ends founders, Jenn and Masey connect volunteer finishers with projects that need finishing through their Loose Ends Project found here.

The idea is so simple and Jenn and Masey have made it very easy to get help. On their website are two black buttons to click: Become A Finisher and Submit A Project. Once you have clicked on one of these buttons you will be directed to a page of explanations and then to a form to fill out.  Perhaps you don't have an unfinished project, but you would like to help, that is where the "Become a Finisher" button works for you.

We met Jenn last night at the Seattle Knitters Guild Holiday Meeting and she is a delight. She is eager to help those with unfinished projects and she sees it as a way to help grieving family or friends to have one last gift from their loved one.

Sometimes things are left unfinished. We keep your loved ones close by completing the projects they’ve left behind.

Jenn is in Seattle Washington and Masey is in Portland, Maine, so they have both coasts covered for volunteers and projects. This is such a needed project. We hope you take a look at their website and sign up to help or have a project finished.

They also can be found on Ravelry here.

Brrrrrr! What a chilly way to begin December! We need to have another give-away and soon. If you are interested in helping, please use the contact email: knitcaphill@gmail.com (also located at the bottom of this page) to get in touch. We will be announcing another give-away on this site as well as on the Ravelry site, so keep watching for it.

While we hung our offerings in Cal Anderson on Nov. 18, the Spectator newspaper from Seattle University was there to photograph and interview us. Thank you to Leila and Jordie for the great job they did on their article, which you can read HERE.

Keep warm and keep being good to yourselves and your neighbors.
